Terror, Rhythm Amongst The Chaos

It’s no lie that Terror is one of my favorite hardcore bands of the past few years. Their aggressive sound has enough new school and old school elements to make me one hell of a happy camper. So you can imagine how stoked I was to get this EP in the mail the other week.

Featuring four new tracks and a classic cover, Rhythm Amongst The Chaos contains that fast paced sound that Terror is know for. Big riffs, pounding drums and raw vocals contribute to a short, yet dominating EP that any fan of the band needs to have in their collection.

Rhythm Amongst The Chaos
The title track is also the shortest on the album coming in at 1:26. It’s short time frame is packed with aggressive hardcore that is fast paced and in your face. The brief slow down in the pace as Vogel’s vocals are shouted creates a nice effect.

Disconnected
“Disconnected” starts off with some beefy riffs before the band picks up the pace. It’s got some thundering drums and great head banging moments that’ll have you shouting along with Terror in no time.

Vengeance Calls On You
The pace on this one is ridiculously fast. It’s aggressive and violent — perfect for a song with this title. The chorus is memorable and will leve you ready to beat the hell out of any close moving object.

Arms Of The Truth
I love the riff that starts this one off. It’s creative yet fits right in with the rest of the album seamlessly. The cadence and vocal delivery on this one is a bit different paced, making it a bit of a stand out track. It’s got a slower, darker feel as well.

Kickback
“Kickback” is a cover of a Breakdown classic. It features Vinnie Paz of Jedi Mind Tricks on duel vocals with Vogel. Not much else can be said about the song except that it does the original justice.

Recorded in drummer Nick Jett’s studio, Rhythm Amongst The Chaos is a tease for all Terror fans. There’s enough there to whet our appetite, but it definitely leaves you wanting more from the band — as any EP should. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve already played this one in the short time I’ve had it.
